Identical Filling and Packaging Lines Help Manufacturer Keep Pace with Growth
Wall, NJ: TES Equipment Supplier, Orem, UT (www.tesequipmentsupplier.com), has specified and installed two new filling and packaging lines for a major nutritional product manufacturer. Added to the manufacturer’s new facility to accommodate the company’s rapid growth, the two identical filling and packaging lines integrate both fully automated and semi-automated Pharmafill(TM) machinery from packaging machine manufacturer Deitz Co., Wall, NJ (www.Deitzco.com) to meet requirements for speed, reliability, and versatility. The clever equipment lineup enables the manufacturer to run all of its glass and plastic bottles in multiple sizes on either line with quick machine adjustments for changeovers requiring less than an hour.
The new filling and packaging lines start by feeding empty bottles from a Pharmafill powered turntable or bottle unscrambler onto a Pharmafill conveyor. The Pharmafill PS1 Packserter(TM) inserts a desiccant, the Pharmafill CS1 cottoner inserts cotton, then a second rotary turntable accumulates bottles if needed. After capping and labeling, a Pharmafill BCV1 bottomless conveyor suspends the bottles over an inkjet printer for printing lot traceability codes on the bottle bottoms, then discharges downstream. The Pharmafill NB1 neck bander applies the tamper-evident shrinkbands and the Pharmafill HT6B heat tunnel seals the bands. At the end of the line, a third rotary turntable accumulates the bottles for cartoning.
